Filter Receiver Dimensional Information

 

The Filter Receiver provides automatic material-from-air separation. The tangential inlet, located in the receiver’s circular hopper, provides a cyclonic separation of the material/air stream. Airborne material is trapped by the filter bags. Timed, compressed-air pulses clean the filter bags, dropping the once airborne material into the hopper. The filter bags are protected from the material mainstream by a deflector shield. Efficient performance of the filter receiver is achieved through the proper selection of filter media and the correct air-to-cloth ratio.

Construction and Performance Features:

Materials of Construction
The filter receiver and hopper are constructed of epoxy-coated carbon steel. For applications requiring it, the material contact surfaces or the entire unit can be constructed of 316 or 304 stainless steel. Stainless steel construction is an excellent choice for abrasive, corrosive, and food-grade applications.

 

Pulse-cleaned filter bags
The filter bags are cleaned by bursts of compressed air from the air accumulator. The air is directed through venturis, forcing a greater volume to join the burst before it enters the bags for more complete dust particle dislodging. Only a single row of bags is pulsed at a time leaving the remaining filter bags on-line. The interval between bag pulsing is adjustable to provide the best bag cleaning.


Explosion relief vents
Filter receivers can be equipped with explosion relief vents to accommodate handling materials classified as St-1, St-2, or St-3 by the U.S. Bureau of Mines.

 

Receiver hoppers
Receiver hoppers are offered with a choice of material inlet and discharge sizes. Outlet flanges can be made to match Premier Aerolocks™, knife gates, or other manufacturers’ equipment, allowing the receiver to be easily incorporated into a new or existing system. The hopper includes a safety grid to prevent bags and cages from falling into the discharge device mounted on the outlet flange.

 

Support stand and service platform
Support stands are available for all sizes of Filter Receivers. The receiver is supported at an elevation that allows correct clearance for the equipment connected to the discharge flange (e.g. shear protector, Aerolock and outlet adapter).

 

Quick access door
The receiver’s filter bags are easily accessed for service through the quick-access door. The door latches unscrew by hand and swing to the side, allowing the door to open on left hand hinges. The filter bags and cages can be reached through the door for removal, cleaning, and eventual replacement. Larger filter receivers have two access doors located 180° apart to provide easy access to all filter bags.

Control panel
The pulse cleaning of the filter bags is regulated by the control panel. The panel’s timer board allows easy adjustment of the frequency and duration of each pulse, as well as displaying which row of bags is being cleaned. All of the solenoids which fire the pulses on command from the timer board are located in the panel, which is rated NEMA 4. Explosion-proof NEMA 9 construction is optional.

 

Pressure differential gauge
Each receiver is equipped with a pressure differential gauge. The gauge measures the difference in pressure between the bag plenum and venturi housing, informing the operator of the effectiveness of the filter cleaning system.
