Light-Duty Aerolock™ Rotary Valve

The Light-Duty Aerolock™ rotary valve provides an excellent seal in low pressure or low vacuum service. Pressure differential across the Aerolock is limited to a maximum of 0.2 bar [3 PSI], allowing the flexible tip rotor to keep air loss to an absolute minimum. It is ideally suited to continuous discharge from cyclone or filter type dust collectors where a head of material does not build up on top of the Aerolock inlet.   Standard Light-Duty Aerolock Rotary Valve This light-duty airlock is often the best rotary valve choice for dust collection applications.

Housing and end plates
The housing and end plates are machined from castings and are made of wear iron, chrome-plated wear iron, or stainless steel and are available with either a round or square flange.

Bearings
Both ends of the shaft are supported by prelubricated, permanently sealed, radial ball bearings mounted in outboard configuration.

Seals

• T3 seal
  The general purpose T3 Rotary Valve seal is used on both ends of the rotor shaft. The assembly is comprised of a Teflon® collar anchored to the shaft and two steel-cased quad ring seals which fit over the Teflon collar. The seals remain stationary while the Teflon collar rotates with the shaft. The Teflon’s slick surface allows quad rings to operate in dry mode with good service life.
• Lip seal
  The double lip seal without the Teflon collar provides an inexpensive rotary valve seal for nonabrasive materials. Two steel-cased rubber seals envelope the shaft at both ends.
• G5 seals
  The G5 seal is for high service applications and includes a quad ring Buna-N seal on a stainless steel insert. 

Rotors
Flexible tips eliminate tolerance adjustments, and the rotors are easily replaced as they wear. They are ideal for use with fine powders and dusts commonly associated with cyclone.
